Global Alliance Against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD) Launches Landmark Publication
The Global Alliance against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD) announced the launch of a book that aims to change how respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis and asthma are managed worldwide.
'Global surveillance, prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases: A comprehensive approach', is the first publication by GARD, an international partnership led and supported by the World Health Organization (WHO).
In the foreword to the book, WHO Assistant Director-General (Non-communicable diseases and mental health) Dr Catherine Le Galès-Camus said she hoped the book "raises awareness of the huge impact of chronic respiratory diseases worldwide, and highlights the risk factors as well as ways to prevent and treat these diseases."
